Based in Boston, Massachusetts, Kevin O'Shaughnessy is a singer/guitarist who is attracting attention around the world. Fans of his work describe him as "Amazing!" and "Bad-ass!".
In a Rock world that never fully recovered from the Grunge era, O'Shaughnessy makes his mark by combining his passionate and introspective lyrics with a reverent infusion of Classic Metal/Hard Rock-influenced riffs and guitar playing.
2015 saw the release of O'Shaughnessy's self-produced debut album Persistence of Vision. Later that year, he performed to a sold-out audience at the legendary Hard Rock Cafe for Universal Music Group who called him a "natural" entertainer. He is currently working on a new album called, From the Ashes, which is slated for release in 2018.
O'Shaughnessy's heart-felt songs of determination, loss, and love give original yet classic-sounding guitar riffs and solos new vitality. And shades of Don Dokken, Gary Cherone, and Kip Winger add a fresh color to O'Shaughnessy's more baritone voice.
"I like mixing the old with the new," says O'Shaughnessy. "There are a lot of great bands out today but I learned how to play guitar in the 80's, and I think there was a lot of great music from that decade that was burried under a mountain of flannel. Why not celebrate that a little bit as well?"
With Persistence of Vision, O'Shaughnessy is stepping up to the mic to shout his intention to carry on the legacy of that early Metal, while adding his own unique and modern spin.
